What’s new in Scottsdale this week?
Canal Convergence returns to the Scottsdale Waterfront from Friday, November 6 through Sunday, November 15, 2026, with a new theme called Western Nature. Expect large-scale light art over the Arizona Canal, nightly fire shows, live music, food trucks, and a beer and wine garden, all along the canal between Scottsdale Road and Goldwater Boulevard.

If you’ve been waiting for the first cool evenings of the season to get out of the house, mark your calendar. Canal Convergence is one of the biggest nights out in Scottsdale every year, and the 2026 edition has a little extra weight behind it. According to Scottsdale Arts, it’s the event’s 15th year and the City of Scottsdale’s 75th anniversary.
The dates, hours, and where to go
The festival runs ten nights, and the hours shift a bit depending on the day. Here’s the schedule listed by Scottsdale Arts and Experience Scottsdale:
- Friday and Saturday, November 6 and 7: 6 to 10 PM
- Sunday through Thursday, November 8 to 12: 6 to 9 PM
- Friday and Saturday, November 13 and 14: 6 to 10 PM
- Sunday, November 15 (closing night): 6 to 9 PM
The event spreads across the Scottsdale Waterfront, in and above the Arizona Canal and along the pedestrian paths and bridges. Experience Scottsdale lists the address as Solstice Park, 4420 N Scottsdale Rd, and shows admission as free. Parking details are on the official event map, so check it before you head out.
What you’ll actually see and do
The headline act is light. Artists install big, glowing, interactive pieces over the water and along the paths, and after dark the whole canal looks like a different place. This year’s Western Nature theme leans into the inspirations of Arizona and the Southwest, so expect desert and landscape themes rather than the abstract shapes of some past years.

Beyond the art, the schedule includes nightly fire shows, live music and dance, family workshops, special events, food trucks, and a beer and wine garden. That mix makes it an easy choice whether you’re planning a date night, bringing the kids, or hosting out-of-town guests who want to see something that feels like Scottsdale.
A few quick tips: weeknight evenings (Sunday through Thursday) tend to be easier on crowds and traffic, walk or rideshare if you can since the canal area fills up on the weekends, and bring a light layer because the desert cools off fast after sundown. Artist names and the full lineup are on the official 2026 artworks page, which Scottsdale Arts links from the event site.
Other November events worth a look
Canal Convergence lands in a busy stretch for the Valley. The Visit Phoenix fall guide also lists the Kierland Fine Art and Wine Festival on November 7 and 8 and the Phoenix Pizza Festival on November 15 and 16, so you could easily build a full weekend around Scottsdale. Check each organizer for current details before you go.
Events like this are one more reason Scottsdale keeps drawing people who want walkable, active evenings close to home. If you’re curious what it’s like to live near the Waterfront and Old Town, that’s my world, and you can start a conversation here.
