What’s new in Phoenix this week?

Harry & Izzy’s, the famous Indianapolis steakhouse, opens its first Arizona location at PV in Phoenix on Wednesday, August 26, 2026. You’ll find it at the former Paradise Valley Mall site near Tatum and Cactus in northeast Phoenix. A famous steakhouse is opening at PV in Phoenix

Here’s one I’ve been waiting to tell you about. Harry & Izzy’s has set its opening date, and it’s Wednesday, August 26, 2026. This is the Indianapolis steakhouse’s first location anywhere outside the Indy area, and it’s landing right here in northeast Phoenix at PV, the sprawling redevelopment on the site of the old Paradise Valley Mall at the northwest corner of Tatum and Cactus. The date was confirmed by Mouth by Southwest and by ABC15.

The space is a big one. It’s a newly built restaurant of about 8,300 square feet, with a 2,400 square foot patio and an outdoor bar, and room to seat around 340 people. If you know the name, you know the draw. Harry & Izzy’s is a sister concept to the legendary St. Elmo Steak House, and it’s famous for its shrimp cocktail with that signature horseradish kick. Expect premium steaks, fresh seafood, sandwiches, salads, pastas, and craft cocktails.

The restaurant comes from Huse Culinary, the hospitality group behind St. Elmo, 1933 Lounge, and HC Tavern & Kitchen. Company leaders have said this is just their first Valley venture, and they’re already scouting more Phoenix-area spots, according to AZ Big Media. If a proper steakhouse night out is your thing, put the 26th on your calendar.

Also new this week: Night Trip Festival hits Scottsdale

If dinner isn’t the only thing on your list, here’s a fun one. Night Trip Festival Arizona takes over WestWorld of Scottsdale on Saturday, August 29, 2026, from 6 p.m. to 2 a.m. It’s a full night of deep house, tech house, and techno under the desert sky at 16601 N. Pima Road. The event is 18 and up, with 21-plus VIP options, and tickets are on the official festival site and listed on Insomniac. It’s a great excuse to see WestWorld light up after dark.

Why this matters if you’re eyeing the area

New spots like these are one more reason northeast Phoenix and Scottsdale keep drawing people in. When a marquee steakhouse and a big festival both pick your side of town, that energy tends to show up in the neighborhoods around them too. If you’re curious what it’s like to actually live near PV or WestWorld, that’s my world, and I’m always glad to talk it through. You can work with me here.
